Scotty Wilson is an Oregon-based country singer-songwriter whose music lives somewhere between the grit of Red Dirt, the soul of Americana, and the honesty of traditional country.
Drawing influence from artists like Waylon Jennings, Alabama, Randy Rogers Band, and Cross Canadian Ragweed, Wilson has built his sound around powerful storytelling, memorable melodies, and songs that feel lived-in rather than manufactured. Whether he’s writing about family, hard choices, life on the road, or the darker corners of life, there’s a common thread running through his music: it has to be real.
That approach can be heard in songs like “Strike A Match” and “Hello.” While “Strike A Match” explores a darker side of country storytelling, “Hello” turns inward, telling the story of a musician willing to walk away from the road and the dream to be there for his family. Together, the songs show two sides of an artist who isn’t afraid to let the story lead the music.
Onstage, Wilson can perform stripped down with an acoustic guitar or turn things loose with his full band, Music Medicine. The live show blends country, Americana, fiddle, guitars, and a little Red Dirt attitude into something built for everything from intimate venues to festival stages.
Wilson has performed at events including Jackalope Jamboree, Wheatstock Music Festival, Pendleton Whisky Music Fest, fairs, rodeos, and concert series throughout the Pacific Northwest, and has shared the stage with national acts including Eli Young Band and Chayce Beckham.
But for Wilson, the goal has never been simply to get onstage. It’s about writing songs people recognize themselves in and building a connection that lasts after the final note.
Because sometimes music is more than entertainment.
